THE first of The Brewery Tap's free Fridays start tonight as Rock Solid perform.

THE first of The Brewery Tap's free Fridays start tonight as Rock Solid perform.

Rock Solid was formed in September 2007 and consists of former band members from Slyde, Face 1st and White Noise. Together Tony Hardy, Dave Bedser, Ian Gregory, Nigel Owen and Phil Rayer play covers including Deep Purple, Bad Company, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC.

Beccles rockers Rise, who consist of members from Ice & Fire, The Glam Rockers, Texas Edge and the Buster James Band, provide the support.

Tomorrow night The Glass Targets bring new wave rock and pop to the venue. Kurt Mansbridge, Kevin Westoby, Andy Skoulding and Chris Hunt will perform with support provided by Norwich duo Crumbs For Comfort. Entrance is £4 and the gig starts at 9pm.

The following weekend the Brewery Tap will be welcoming High Voltage on Friday and Six Degrees of Separation, supported by Untold, on Saturday.

The Brewery Tap is also promoting its annual Battle of the Bands competition. Entry forms for the Morlings and Journal sponsored event are available from the venue and Morlings.

The competition is open to all local bands based within 10 miles of the Brewery. Heats will commence in April and the final will take place in July.
