REHEARSALS are well under way for The Lowestoft Players' production of Annie Get Your Gun.

With shooting contests, fun-filled company numbers and an old-fashioned love story, this show is set to sweep audiences away to the Wild West for fun and merriment.

The relationship of Annie Oakley, played by Harriet Chambers, and shooting rival Frank Butler, played by Chris Moore, both pictured right, is the classic boy meets girl story. But, unlike many traditional romances, Annie is no damsel in distress.

“Annie is a strong character, who gives all the men a run for their money,” said Harriet.

Chris Moore, who is playing Frank Butler, is a familiar face with Lowestoft Players’ audiences, having previous played the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, Bill Sykes in Oliver! and most recently Emile De Becque in South Pacific.

“I wanted the part of Frank Butler as it gives me the chance to perform classic songs such There’s No Business Like Show Business and Anything You Can Do,” he said.

Annie Get Your Gun is at the Marina Theatre, Lowestoft from Tuesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 11 nightly at 7.30pm and at 2.30pm on Saturday. Call the Marina Theatre box office on 01502 533200 or for party bookings of 10 seats or more call 01502 569730 or 531279
