SOME of Lowestoft's best bands will be gathering together in Oulton Broad later this month for a two-day music extravaganza.

On Saturday and Sunday, August 30/31, The Brewery Tap will be playing host to 18 acts for two jam-packed days of top quality music.

Amongst the bands already agreed to perform at the Amplified Music Festival are a number of entrants from The Journal-sponsored Battle of the Bands competition, including the past two winners of the contest Depth and Drown the City, two-time runners up Untold and this year's People's Choice winners Pepe. Remold, Not Clever, Jokari and Goodbye to Midnight will all also be performing.

The first day of the festival will run from 3pm to midnight and will be headlined by Nottingham-based band Battle to Exile. The second day will run from 3pm to 11pm and will be headlined by Norwich based band Hellcat.

Entry will be £5 on the door each day and wristbands will be given out to allow gig-goers to leave and return later. Hot food will also be on offer.
