Varied music programme at Marina

TONIGHT Lowestoft's Marina Theatre hosts the latest concert from its Royal Philharmonic Orchestra 2008 residency.

A special sold out evening show of Here Come the Classics features a host of popular pieces, conducted by Nicholas Cleobury and featuring soloist Michael Whight, including works by Suppe, Ravel, Mozart, Smetana, Strauss Dvorak and Elgar from 7.

A special sold out evening show of Here Come the Classics features a host of popular pieces, conducted by Nicholas Cleobury and featuring soloist Michael Whight, including works by Suppe, Ravel, Mozart, Smetana, Strauss Dvorak and Elgar from 7.30pm.

Tomorrow brings a rare appearance by former Amen Corner lead singer Andy Fairweather Lowe, together with his band The Lowe Riders, at 7.30pm. He had a successful association with the band during the 60's that saw them clock up hit after hit, including the songs Bend Me Shape Me, Hello Suzy, and (If Paradise is) Half as Nice .

On Sunday, the Marina hosts an evening of music variety as some of the best young performers from across the region showcase their skills. Cantors Stars, featuring students from the Cantors Theatre School, commences at 7.30pm.

The summer is also an excellent time to be a film fan with a host of top movies arriving from July 18, including the Chronicles of Narnia - The Prince Caspian, Mamma Mia, The Incredible Hulk, Kung Fu Panda, Sex in the City, Space Chimps and The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
